06.10.2012 Bus Service Changes

Some Arriva buses will be changing at the end of this month. We will update as we get information.

X66 Darlington - Harrowgate Hill - Revised route and timetable. Journeys towards Middlesbrough will run via Riverside Road in Stockton and serve Stockton - Middlesbrough Stands 10 and 6 in Stockton High Street at both ends. Journeys towards Darlington remain unchanged, serving the south end of Stockton High Street only.

X1/X2 Middlesbrough - Stockton - The X1 will continue to run every 30 minutes on Monday to Saturday daytimes between Middlesbrough, Teesdale

Sedgefield - Coxhoe - Durham - University, Stockton, Sedgefield, Coxhoe and Durham. In Stockton, Monday to Saturday daytime journeys will serve Framwellgate Moor - Plawsworth - both ends of the High Street to improve connections with other buses. As a result, these buses will run to a new route Chester-le-Street - Gateshead - between Stockton and Middlesbrough, which will be via Thornaby railway station, Teesdale University (Station Street, Harvard Avenue and Princeton Drive) and the A66. We are also improving the Monday to Saturday evening service to run hourly all year round instead of half-hourly during Durham University term times only. Some journeys will be run by double-deck buses to increase capacity at peak times. Most X1 journeys will extend to/from Newcastle as service X2, which will run to a new timetable. We are also introducing new stops to the X2 at Windsor Road in Birtley and at the southern end of Newcastle City Centre. These will be at John Dobson Street (for journeys towards Newcastle) and at St Nicholas Cathedral (for journeys towards Durham).
